An ancient Venetian Palace, a few steps from San Marco and rich in history and legend, offering accommodation in exclusive apartments and elegant suites designed for a special Venetian experience either for long periods or for shorter stays, for a romantic weekend or just a single night.
It offers a refined concept of hospitality, both attentive and personal, so as to guarantee a stay insulated from the usual tourist routes – whilst being close to all the most precious of this millennial city’s cultural and historic treasures.
The Palace is accessed by an antique portal opening into a private courtyard, embedded with marble carvings and Byzantine friezes. There is also a water gate onto a network of canals that make Venice utterly unique.
The Palace looks onto the Salizada di Santa Giustina in the heart of Castello, the best preserved and most ‘Venetian’ of Venice’s quarters. With its secluded qualities, the building still maintains all the features of an historic Venetian dwelling: double entrances onto canal and street, a courtyard with its curbed well and an outside staircase leading into light-filled drawing rooms on the first floor ‘piano nobile’.
Traditional ceilings are preserved - some still with fifteenth century designs – as are the geometric and floral motifs on the house’s elegant façade and the friezes and ornamentation on its stairs and in its rooms.
A large entrance hall, with elegant period furniture, immediately sweeps the visitor into the atmosphere of a true Venetian palace. On the first floor, the large ‘Sala delle Feste’ (a ballroom) is flooded with light from an intricate window that looks down onto the inner courtyard.
From the entrance hall, an antique staircase leads up to the great ‘Salone delle Feste’ with its traditional crushed marble flooring and its discreetly beamed and lacquered ceiling, the windows overlooking the garden making it an ideal place for parties, gala dinners, meetings and small conferences.
